Jaycee Scanlon (she/her/hers) is the DC Program Manager for the Eisenhower Institute at Gettysburg College. She connects aspiring leaders with real-world public policy professionals by drawing on her communications and higher-education programming experience.

Jaycee graduated with bachelor’s degrees in communications and English from Salisbury University in 2020. She continued her education at the University of Delaware, obtaining a master’s degree in political science and international relations in May 2022. Jaycee possesses strong communication skills, which she cultivated through internships and fellowships at Scott Circle Communications, the City of Salisbury, the Oxford Club, and the Energy Futures Initiative.

Jaycee applied these abilities to the higher education realm while supporting undergraduate students in and out of the classroom at the University of Delaware. While serving as a teaching assistant, she helped students meet their learning goals through post-secondary curricula. As a graduate assistant for the University of Delaware’s Public Diplomacy Programs, Jaycee delved into programming through two Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) programs with international undergraduate and post-doctoral participants.

Jaycee advanced academic programs in women’s leadership and U.S. foreign policy by engaging with topic experts, planning U.S.-based study tours, and meeting other logistical needs to ensure program success. In 2022 and 2023, Jaycee led the implementation of the SUSI Madeleine K. Albright Young Women Leaders Program as its administrative director, facilitating the leadership development of young women leaders from sub-Saharan Africa.
