Library Accessibility

Musselman Library is committed to being welcoming, open, and inclusive in our building and our services. Our work to make the library accessible to everyone is ongoing.

Entrance

  • Parking. The library does not have a dedicated parking lot. The closest accessible parking spaces are in the Masters lot; see the campus map for more information. For assistance, contact Campus Safety at 717-337-6912 or parking@gettysburg.edu.
  • Entry. The accessible entrance is on the west (Stine Lake) side of the library. There is a ramp and an automatic door opener. Please note that the library is only open to campus members (via ID card swipe) during certain hours. Scan your campus ID card before pushing the door opener button.

Elevator location

  • The elevator is on the west (Stine Lake) side of the library and is not immediately visible from the main entrance. After entering the main level, pass the Check Out Desk, turn left down the hallway, and follow the signs. Anyone may use the elevator; no permission or key is required.

Accessible restrooms

  • Accessible and inclusive restrooms are located on the main and lower levels. The main level restroom has a changing table.

Barriers

  • The elevator may be too small for some patrons. The opening is 31 inches, and the interior is 40 inches by 60 inches.
  • Both the ramp and exterior surface are built of brick, which is not completely smooth.
