All outdoor fires must be coordinated with the Fire/Life Safety Services in advance.
Campfires and Bonfires are prohibited on campus. The Gettysburg Borough has a “NO OPEN BURNING” ordinance in place.
Special Events require logistical support and a hazard assessment so that guest safety and institutional goals and objectives are being satisfactory met. The following are just the major services that Campus Safety provides for special events.

- Closing Street
- Executive and Dignitary Protection
- Perimeter Security
- Medical providers and equipment including an automatic external defibrillator (AED)
- Fire Extinguishers
