President Bob Iuliano informs the campus community about the passing of Gettysburg College student Jeff Gier.

Dear Members of the Gettysburg College Community,
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that Gettysburg College student, Jeff Gier ’23, died yesterday at his home in Oyster Bay, New York. His family has let us know that they are comfortable with our sharing that Jeff’s death appears to be from natural causes. Jeff was double majoring in economics and East Asian Studies and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.
Please keep Jeff and his family and friends in your thoughts during this truly difficult time. Our entire College community grieves this loss. College Life staff are reaching out to Jeff’s friends directly to offer support. Additionally, Counseling Services staff are available to all students. We will provide information about a memorial service as it becomes available. Our hearts go out to the Gier family and all those whose lives have been touched by Jeff.
