Thank you! - September 27, 2021

September 27, 2021

Dear Colleagues,

It has been a wonderful past few days at the College. The First-Year Walk for our sophomore class, the Board of Trustees meeting, Homecoming Weekend, and of course, our long-awaited Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2020—each event reflected Gettysburg at its very best! I heard from students, alumni, and families alike about how much they appreciated all that the College provided for them to enjoy.

The last few days would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of so many of you working together on both the planning and implementation of these large-scale events. The strength of our community and our commitment to teamwork were evident. Many of you stepped forward visibly, while others worked with little fanfare behind the scenes, all to be sure these special events unfolded successfully. Thank you for your inspiring commitment to Gettysburg College!

A number of areas at the College were particularly busy over the last several days. A big thanks to our Facilities and Dining staff for making sure that our fellow Gettysburgians were well fed and our beautiful campus was on full display for the festivities. To the many other people from across the College who also worked to ensure the success of the weekend, I greatly appreciate all that each of you did, and do every day, to support our students and to make this such a special place. Your efforts truly make all the difference.

Again, thank you to our entire community!

With gratitude,
Bob
