Expanding MA in American History

March 20, 2024

Dear Campus Community,

Since its launch in April 2022, the Gettysburg College-Gilder Lehrman Institute MA in American History has quickly become known for its affordability, flexibility, and exceptional quality, especially among K-12 teachers nationwide.

In response to growing demand for this fully online program, I am proud to announce two significant expansions that will broaden its reach and impact.

First, starting this Summer 2024 semester, the College will be expanding our master’s program to community college instructors.

At $750 per course and only 10 courses to a master’s degree, our MA program has been widely embraced by K-12 educators, district supervisors, librarians, museum professionals, and National Park Service employees associated with the GLI. Community college instructors will now have the opportunity to enroll and deepen their knowledge in this critical field of study.

Second, we will be introducing a new MA+15/30 offering, designed specifically for K-12 teachers who currently hold a master’s degree. This offering allows them to take courses beyond their master’s level, contributing to their professional development while advancing their salary schedules.

Those eligible for the Gettysburg College-Gilder Lehrman Institute MA in American History can apply at www.gilderlehrman.org/gettysburg.

On behalf of Gettysburg College and our partners at the GLI, we are so pleased to build on the extraordinary success of our master’s program and make it accessible to even more of our nation’s dedicated teachers.

Sincerely,

Bob Iuliano
President
