Dear Campus Community,
Our College’s mission is made possible by the extraordinary work happening each day in our classrooms, laboratories, and studios, as well as by the many people who believe in the promise of a Gettysburg education and who choose to invest in our future.
This past year, that belief was on vivid display. More than 782 volunteers gave generously of their time, talent, and wisdom, including through our new Alumni Mentoring program. Gettysburgians returned to campus to speak with students in their classes and through our Guided Pathways program, hosted J-Term sessions and career treks, provided internships and job shadowing opportunities, and connected our students with meaningful experiences both here and beyond Gettysburg.
That same spirit was reflected in the year’s fundraising results. I am pleased to share that 9,359 Gettysburgians made philanthropic gifts in support of our community.
Together, we secured $33.6 million in gifts—the second most successful fundraising year in College history. The total includes $3.75 million donated to the Gettysburg Fund in support of College-wide priorities, and a record $1.17 million to the Orange & Blue Club in support of our student-athletes. Among the remaining $29 million are gifts to establish or enhance scholarships and a variety of other endowed funds, as well as pledges and estate intentions that will benefit the College in future years.
Our fundraising success also includes record-setting giving by our reunion classes—a testament to the excitement and confidence of our alumni in the innovative work we’ve undertaken for our students, such as adding new majors and athletic teams, renovating campus spaces, and alike. These funds will support scholarships, professorships, experiential learning opportunities, and more in the coming years.
At a time when higher education is confronting meaningful headwinds—including financially, given demographic shifts and the decline in college-bound students—this support matters more than ever. Indeed, it helps sustain the essential work at the heart of our mission, while making it possible for the College to pursue new opportunities that will prepare our students to thrive in an ever-changing world.
I am deeply grateful to our College Advancement team and so many others across our community who help to foster a culture of generosity at Gettysburg. As we look ahead to another ambitious fundraising year, including the public launch of our comprehensive campaign in October, I am thrilled to continue partnering with you to advance our vision for the future.
