Dear Campus Community,
I’m writing to provide an update on the search for our next Vice President for Finance and Administration. Since my last communication in April that announced the members of the search advisory committee, we are now in the market with a position profile, which I’ve attached to this email. Spencer Stuart, our executive search firm, is actively meeting with and recruiting candidates interested in this opportunity. Please circulate the position profile to anyone who might be interested and send along any suggestions for candidates to the firm.
In my April communication, I noted that Chris Delaney, the College’s Associate Vice President of Finance/Associate Treasurer had agreed to step in as interim while we conduct this search. Chris recently let me know that personal reasons no longer permitted him to serve in the interim role, though he will continue in his current position as Associate Vice President of Finance/Associate Treasurer.
As a result, I am pleased to announce that Mike Coyne, formerly the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Susquehanna University, will join the Gettysburg College community as the College’s interim Chief Financial Officer. Mike was secured through The Registry, an executive placement service that specializes in interim placements. I am grateful for Mike’s willingness to step into this role. He brings with him a wealth of experience and understanding of private institutions’ finances and strategies. He will be a great partner to us in our work over the next several months. Mike will begin his interim responsibilities this week and I anticipate that he will remain in the role until we’ve successfully completed our search for our next Vice President for Finance and Administration.
