Six units of credit are required for the Music minor.
Two Courses in Music Theory
- MUS_CLAS 141 Theory I (grade of C must be earned)
- MUS_CLAS 142 Theory II (grade of C must be earned)
Two Courses in Musicology
- MUS_CLAS 210 Musicology I
- MUS_CLAS 212 Intro to Ethnomusicology
Music Ensemble
- Minimum of four semesters of major participation ensemble on the student’s principal instrument/ voice
- Wagnild scholarship recipients must participate in an ensemble during all during all semesters of residence.
Studio Lessons
- Minimum of 4 semesters of applied lessons at the 100-level on the student’s principal instrument/ voice, culminating in a jury in the fourth semester of applied study.
- Wagnild scholarship recipients required to complete a minimum of 4 semesters of applied lesson at the 200-level and follow guideline for music majors with regard to applied study, including performance of a jury each semester of enrollment.
