As part of the application, students will be asked to indicate their reason for requesting housing and the dates for which housing is needed. Before submitting the application, students should carefully review the important details and requirements outlined on this webpage.

Summer room selection - Thursday, April 23, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
- Summer housing room selection will take place in person on Thursday, April 23, beginning at 4:00 p.m. in CUB 260. Only students who have been verified as eligible will be entered into the lottery and permitted to select a room.
- Each eligible student will be assigned to a 30-minute time slot, with approximately 35–40 students per slot. Time slots are assigned based on lottery numbers generated for the 2026–2027 academic year housing selection process, and students will be called in lottery number order.
- Students planning to live with a roommate should ensure that both roommates should attend the selection during the earlier of the two assigned time slots.
- Students who are currently studying abroad and applying for summer housing must designate a proxy to select a room on their behalf. Please email Gray Reid with your proxy's name so they can be included in communications related to the summer housing room selection process.
- Additional details about the room selection process will be shared with approved applicants after the April 17 application deadline.
- Following room selection on April 23, and once we know where everyone is moving from and moving to, students will receive more specific information about their transition from spring to summer housing, as well as temporary storage options. Please note that organizing this information may take a few days.
Accommodation requests
Residential Education will work with students who have an approved housing accommodation to meet their approved needs.
Summer housing move-in and move-out information
- Summer housing rooms will not be available for occupancy until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19. In most cases, students will be permitted to remain in their spring housing until that time. Students will have until 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21 to move their belongings from spring housing to their assigned summer housing. Following the summer housing room selection on April 23, additional details will be shared regarding the transition process from spring to summer housing.
- Students who are not on campus during the spring semester (e.g. those studying abroad) should plan to arrive no earlier than 4:00 p.m. on May 19.
- Students who are still residing in summer housing on Friday, July 31, and who are returning for the fall semester, will move into their fall housing between July 31 - August 2, beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31.
- Students not returning for the Fall 2026 semester (e.g. May 2026 graduates, those studying abroad or off-campus, or those living off-campus) must vacate their summer housing and return their room keys by 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2. The College cannot accommodate housing beyond this date. Students in need of housing beyond August 2 should plan ahead to make alternative arrangements.
Temporary storage availability
Spring to summer housing transition
Limited temporary storage is available for students who are unable to transition directly from spring housing to summer housing within the designated timeframe. For example, some students may leave campus immediately after completing exams and not return until later in May or June. While these students must fully vacate their spring housing before departing, their summer housing assignment may not yet be available.
In these situations, students have two options: they may take their belongings home, or they may use the temporary storage space located in the Apple basement for the short period they are away. Please note that this storage option is intended for short‑term use only and may not be used for the entire summer. All items placed in temporary storage must be removed when students return in May or June.
Approximately one week after room sign‑ups on April 23, additional information about temporary storage, including instructions on how to request it, will be shared.
Summer to fall housing transition
Temporary storage is also available for students who move out of summer housing before July 31 and will be returning for the fall semester later in August. Additional details about temporary storage will be provided in July. Please note: this storage option is only for students returning in August for the fall semester. We are unable to accommodate long-term storage (e.g., during the semester).
