College closure ordered by Governor

Message sent March 19, 2020

The following message was sent to students and families by Julie Ramsey, VP for College Life and Dean of Students. It explains that the College has been ordered to close by the Governor of Pennsylvania.

Dear Students and Families:

We have just received word that the Governor of Pennsylvania has ordered all non-life sustaining businesses to close their physical locations until further notice as of 8 p.m. today to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Given this news, the College will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. tonight until further notice.

There will be no further opportunity to access college residence halls to retrieve your belongings. We apologize for the inconvenience and disruption this may cause, especially if you are on your way to campus now. We must comply with the Governor’s order.

The College continues to discuss this order and its impact on the students and families and will be in touch as soon as possible with any additional guidance.

Sincerely,

Julie L. Ramsey,
Vice President for College Life and Dean of Students
