Employee COVID testing

Jennifer Lucas, Co-Director of Human Resources, updates employees on contact tracing protocols regarding employee testing for the fall semester.

Greetings Colleagues,

We are writing to provide an update to our contact tracing protocols regarding employee testing for the rest of the fall academic semester. To expand testing opportunities, employees who are currently working on campus and believe they have been in contact with a positive case while on campus will now have access to testing. Testing takes place on Mondays and Tuesdays. Employees who are seeking a test will need to call Health Services at 717-337-6970 to schedule a testing appointment. Employees will need to complete a HIPAA waiver before testing.

Symptomatic Employees

Employees who are experiencing any signs or symptoms of the flu or COVID-19 must continue to visit their family physician as they have the patient’s full medical history. Employees must follow their healthcare provider’s advice regarding testing, isolation, or quarantine. Employees will need to follow the “symptom monitoring protocols” listed in the College’s Return to Work Plan.

Since we are limited in our ability to provide on-campus employee testing, we want to reinforce that there are local testing sites that offer the same, or shorter, turnaround time than the tests provided by CSI, our on-campus testing partner. A listing of local COVID testing sites is available on our website. We encourage employees unable to receive a test through CSI to pursue opportunities presented by local sites.

As a reminder, employees are required to contact the Human Resources Office as soon as possible if they are undergoing testing for COVID-19 (on or off campus), are confirmed to have COVID-19, or have been in close contact with someone who tests positive. The College will maintain your privacy to the greatest extent possible. If an employee is designated as a close contact, that employee will be required to self-quarantine and self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days.

We appreciate your patience during this challenging time. The Human Resources team will continue to work closely with the College’s Implementation Committee to review expanded employee testing options for the spring semester.

Thanks for all you do!

Jen
