No classes today

President Iuliano informs students that classes are cancelled today for rest and recuperation.

Dear Students,

Good morning, everyone! I’m pleased to announce that today, March 2, is a Wellness Day at Gettysburg College. This means that all classes for the day have been cancelled, so every Gettysburg student may rest and recharge. Again, this applies to all of our students—those currently on campus, as well as those studying remotely.

Last week, your faculty received a note from Provost Zappe in preparation of this announcement. Please know that no Gettysburg College professor will be holding class. You officially have the day off.

This is one of two Wellness Days that the College will announce this spring semester. I would encourage our student organizations to likewise take full advantage of this break by opting not to hold any meetings or organized activities. It will provide members the chance to center themselves during what we know has been a weighty past few weeks of operating amid the pandemic.

A few additional items of note:

  • The Dining Center, Jaeger Center, and all other facilities remain open to you.
  • The Testing Center is still open. If you are scheduled to test today, please make sure you go to Plank Gym for your COVID test as you typically would.
  • Counseling Services is available to offer support and guidance during these challenging times. Please reach out to them if you ever want to talk.

So, today, read a good book. Catch up on your sleep. Watch a new Netflix show. Explore the Battlefields. Safely connect with friends. Or, simply, do nothing at all!

Indeed, we all need time to unwind in order to be at our very best. Together, let’s continue to take care of ourselves and each other.

Take great care,

Bob Iuliano
President
