COVID Update

Anne Ehrlich, Vice President for College Life, updates the campus community about current COVID cases on campus.

Dear Campus Community,

I am writing this evening to provide a brief update regarding COVID cases on campus. Over the past seven days, we saw six positive student cases. This brought our total student cases for the semester to 15. The most recent positive student cases were clustered within one student group. The rest of that group was tested today, yielding one additional positive result. The positive cases remain in isolation, and interim mitigation strategies have been put in place for the group as a whole. The group will be tested again in five days.

We are confident in our ability to contain and isolate these cases, and our overall campus positivity rate remains very low. Additional campus-wide mitigation strategies will be implemented if we see positive cases that signal more widespread transmission beyond this identifiable and containable cluster.

We are pleased to see students who are concerned about symptoms or potential exposure testing on campus, and continue to encourage students to test at no cost at Health Services or our Mobile Health testing site.

Anne
