A selected piece from the 2012 Juried Student Exhibition, Julianne Cabour ‘12, Leaking Through, ink and woodcut
Students taking Gettysburg College studio art classes have the opportunity for their works to be selected by a renowned professional artist and displayed at Schmucker Art Gallery starting this week.
Outstanding work produced by students during the 2012-13 academic year was selected by juror Steven Pearson for the Juried Student Exhibition 2013. Out of more than 100 submissions, Pearson selected less than half to be exhibited. The works will be on display from March 29 through April 20. Also on exhibit will be Pearson’s Gamut of Hues, new large-scale paintings that investigate the complexities of color and space.
On March 29 at 4 p.m., Pearson will discuss his work and the jurying process, and there will be a presentation of student awards. An opening reception will follow at 5 p.m.
