The department offers programs in:
José Montelongo, Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish, recently received an international book award for his work, Mi abuelo fue agente secreto (My Grandfather Was a Secret Agent). Authors from 27 countries sent entries to the competition "Invenciones 2010", an award devoted to literature for children and young adults.
Kate Sweetland-Lambird '10 came to Gettysburg knowing she would get involved with the College's Center for Public Service . What she didn't know was that community involvement would prove to be a transformational experience, both for her and for children in Gettysburg. Read more

"How can I complain about living in a small dorm room when these children live in cramped conditions ... and wear the same clothes basically every day?" asked Margaret White, one of several Spanish majors and minors in the James Heston Experience, a summer service-learning program for students who can't afford an unpaid internship.
