Men's Soccer Blanks Waynesburg, 4-0, in Season Opener

The men's soccer team got two goals from Jesse Gemberling-Johnson and two assists from Geoff Menge to blank Waynesburg, 4-0, at Frostburg State. The Bullets will take on Frostburg State in the tournament's championship match on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Field Hockey Seeks Continued Success After Capturing 2005 ECAC Title

The Gettysburg College field hockey team opens its season this weekend with a trip to Eastern Mennonite and Lynchburg. Head coach Barb Jordan's squad is coming off a second-place Centennial Conference finish and an ECAC championship in 2005 and will move to Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium for a majority of the 2006 home schedule.

Twenty-nine Bullets named to Centennial Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll

Twenty-nine Gettysburg College student-athletes have been named to the 2006 Centennial Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll, announced recently. To be nominated for the honor roll, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve, be of sophomore standing or higher, and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.40.

Franklin & Marshall Downs Men's Basketball, 67-48, in CC Opener

Sophomore guard Dan Capkin scored 14 of his team-high 19 points in the first half to help Gettysburg build a five-point halftime lead, but Franklin & Marshall roared back with 45 points after the break to defeat the Bullets, 67-48, in both teams' Centennial Conference opener on Tuesday night at Mayser Center.

Junior midfielder Jesse Gemberling-Johnson was named to the D3Kicks.com Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team, announced recently. Gemberling-Johnson, a second-team All-Region selection, played energetic defense and was a key offensive weapon for the Bullets' offense.

White Named Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Sophomore guard Margaret White was named Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 20-26. She posted game and career-highs with 21 points and nine rebounds as the Bullets defeated Franklin & Marshall, 70-55.

Redd Sets Career Highs With 14 Points, 19 Rebounds in 58-42 Loss to York (Pa.)

Senior captain Julius Redd posted his first double-double, setting career highs with 14 points and 19 rebounds in the process, but it was not enough as York (Pa.) topped Gettysburg, 58-42, in non-conference action on Tuesday night at Bream Gym. Redd's previous highs were 12 points and 12 rebounds against Moravian last November.

Sophomore guard Margaret White scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds to lead Gettysburg to a 70-55 win in its Centennial Conference season opener on Tuesday night at the Mayser Center. Senior Katie Reilly blocked four shots to become Gettysburg's career shot-blocking leader with 107 swats.

Sophomore guard Dan Capkin has been named Centennial Conference Player of the Week in an announcement made on Monday by the conference. He will lead the Bullets against York (Pa.) on Tuesday night in a game which can be heard on ESPN Radio WOYK 1350-AM in York, Pa.

Reilly's Double-Double Leads Women's Basketball to 500th Win in Program History

Senior captain Katie Reilly scored a game-high 20 points and added a career-high 15 rebounds to help Gettysburg to a 70-52 win over Oswego State on Sunday afternoon at the Verizon Sports Arena. The victory sealed fourth place for the Bullets at the Marymount Tip-Off Tournament and was the 500th in the history of the Gettysburg women's basketball program.
