Gettysburg College greets the Class of 2017

The Gettysburg College Class of 2017 is here! This morning, hundreds of first-year students arrived on campus, embraced their family and friends, and settled into their rooms in residence halls Stine, Rice, Paul, Patrick, Hanson, and Huber.  For the College’s newest Gettysburgians, it’s the first day of an unforgettable four-year journey!

Journey back, then journey forward because I believe it impossible to look beyond, unless you understand where you began. Gettysburg I argue, is the place to start because where the freshmen now stand, is where the bloody fight "eliminating the flames of withering injustice" began. (MLK)
