Bathroom Access Policy

In an effort to create a safe and welcoming environment where all community members (students, faculty, staff, visitors, etc.) feel supported and empowered to be themselves, Gettysburg College aims to provide safe and accessible bathrooms across campus. Gettysburg College affirms the right of community members to use the bathrooms that best corresponds to their gender identity. Gender inclusive restrooms are currently available in many campus buildings for individuals who do not feel comfortable using gender-specific facilities. For the purposes of this policy, bathroom and restroom are used interchangeably to refer to toilet and shower facilities in college buildings.

In an on-going effort to provide an adequate number of gender inclusive facilities, Gettysburg College commits to including gender inclusive bathrooms in future building projects, as well as examining and de-gendering unnecessarily gendered single-occupancy spaces that currently exist on campus.
