Join together with friends and fellow Gettysburgians as we paint the city Orange and Blue in this first-of-its-kind celebration. Over three days, our College will host activities across Philadelphia that showcase the very best of our community—from micro-classes in local high schools taught by our world-class faculty to a Gettysburg College Night at SPIN to an unforgettable culminating reception featuring our talented students.

I ♥️ ️Lifelong Learning: How to Get Along at Thanksgiving

There’s a lot of talk these days about a polarized America. You may even experience it at your own Thanksgiving dinner table! In this session, led by Tracie Potts, Executive Director of the Eisenhower Institute, you’ll practice the ABCs of constructive dialogue and leave with the tools and motivation to build bridges, view difference as a strength, and find common ground.

Learn how to make drinks turn colors, the science behind bubble formation, how to make a tiny cloud with a bottle of champagne, and other interesting science in this interactive mixology experience. This session is taught by Kurt Andresen, Ronald J. Smith Professor of Applied Physics and Biochemistry and Molecular Affiliate.

Together, we will “love, defend, and honor the glorious Orange and Blue” at a festive Gettysburg College Night at SPIN. The venue features 16 ping pong tables, house DJs, and plenty of space to catch up with lifelong friends and make some new ones. Guests will enjoy delicious eats, creative cocktails, and commemorative Gettysburg ♥️ Philadelphia keepsakes.

Following Gettysburg College Night at SPIN, we invite guests to join us for a special group photo at Philadelphia’s iconic LOVE sculpture. The sculpture is located in John F. Kennedy Plaza (15th Street and JFK Boulevard), just an 8-minute walk from SPIN. All participants will receive a Flickr album to remember the night.

Our three days of festivities will culminate with an unforgettable Gettysburg ♥️ Philadelphia Reception at Hotel West & Main. The celebration will feature many of Gettysburg College’s most beloved faculty and endeared staff members, as well as a bus full (literally!) of our talented students. Guests will enjoy interactive stations, catered food and drinks, a memorable Sunderman Conservatory performance, and a closing message from President Bob Iuliano.

Independent educational consultants (IECs) support Gettysburg College’s enrollment efforts in a meaningful way. In their specialized role, IECs guide high school students and their families through the college search process and assist with finding, applying to, and selecting a top-tier college like Gettysburg. Our Admissions team will host a small group of IECs for lunch while in Philadelphia and highlight all that our community has to offer.
