Learning Outcomes for East Asian Studies Majors
Upon the completion of a major in East Asian Studies with China/Japan Track, students will:
1. read, write, speak, and aurally comprehend Chinese and/or Japanese at the advanced level or higher, with the potential to integrate it into scholarly research.
2. demonstrate a historical and cultural awareness of their studied region, as well as East Asia in general.
3. obtain a solid, specialized knowledge on the capstone project.
4. formulate oral and written arguments using disciplinary methodology and sources.
Learning Outcomes for East Asian Studies Minors
Upon the completion of a minor in East Asian Studies with China/Japan Track, students will:
1. read, write, speak, and aurally comprehend Chinese and/or Japanese at the intermediate level or higher.
2. demonstrate a historical and cultural awareness of their studied region, as well as East Asia in general.
3. obtain some specialized knowledge in the chosen discipline .
4. formulate oral and written arguments using disciplinary methodology and sources.
