History majors take advantage of internships to enhance their learning of history through hands-on, intensive, and practical experience in a number of ways. In recent years, History majors have completed summer internships at the Saratoga Battlefield National Park and a number of historical sites sponsored by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
Guidelines:
- An internship consists of a minimum of 160 hours of on-the-job experience in a related industry or field.
- Generally, students are responsible for finding a suitable site for conducting their internship. The Career Services office provides guidance and information to students seeking to secure an internship.
- Students must be sponsored by a faculty member, and receive approval by the department.
Internships do not count toward the minimum requirement in the major, but do count as an elective toward graduation requirements. Internships are graded S/U. Students can complete their internship over the summer or during the academic year.
