Library Collections

Musselman Library's music collection supports all aspects of music performance and study at the Sunderman Conservatory. It reflects an overall commitment to providing a range of musical experience within a comprehensive Liberal Arts environment.

The collection features an extensive selection of sound and video recordings, representing all periods and genres of Western classical music, as well as jazz, popular and world music. The music collection also includes journals; print and electronic reference resources; scores, including monuments and collected editions; and books about music.

Students have full access to music scores, both study scores and performance parts for solo instruments and chamber ensembles, along with recordings, books about music and musicians, encyclopedias and dictionaries, and films. The music collection is available for browsing whenever the library is open.

All audio-visual resources may be checked out. Musselman Library also provides access to a number of online listening libraries that include thousands of CDs, scores, films, and books. Visit the online Music Subject Guide for links.

The Sunderman Music Library Collection, a recent gift from the estate of Gettysburg College alumnus F. William Sunderman, Sr., has been a significant addition to the Library's holdings in string chamber music performing editions.
