Type: Special Interest

The Gettysburg College Environmental Concerns Organization (G.E.C.O.) has been a part of campus life since 1994. To continue to make positive impacts on the environment and the local community, the club is often involved with campus and community sustainability projects, environmental advocacy and awareness campaigns, and environmental restoration projects. However we are always looking for new ideas!

Each year G.E.C.O. hosts and is involved with several eco-minded events such as kayaking, hiking, volunteering at Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve, restoring wetlands with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, campus-wide sustainability-themed weeks and activities, and many more! G.E.C.O. has represented Gettysburg College at local and national sustainability conferences as well!

G.E.C.O. is always looking for more members and encourages new members to join them for their weekly meetings! You don’t have to be an Environmental Studies Major/Minor to join - all majors are welcome!
