Founded in 1950, the Gamma Kappa Alpha (GKA), National Italian Honor Society, acknowledges outstanding scholastic performance in the study of Italian at Gettysburg College. The Society encourages college students to acquire a greater interest in, and a deeper understanding of, Italian culture, literature, history, art and cinema. To be eligible, students at Gettysburg College must attain at 3.0 average or better in one 300-level course, a 3.0 average college wide and be in the top 35% of class, and a 3.0 average for all Italian courses taken.
