Commencement Weekend is only 17 days away!

Below is important information to help you prepare for Commencement Weekend. Please read the entire email as answers to many questions can be found in this message!

COMMENCEMENT INFORMATION IS ON THE COLLEGE WEBSITE
The first place you should go for Commencement information is the College website! The Commencement webpages include everything you need to know (some details are also below). Please check the Commencement webpages often to be sure you are getting the most up-to-date information.

COMMENCEMENT – Answers to FAQs

No tickets are needed for guests. We will have plenty of seating available in front of Penn Hall with great views of the ceremony.

Commencement and Baccalaureate will be streamed live from the Commencement webpages.

The Commencement Ceremony lasts about two and half hours and Baccalaureate is about one hour.

BACCALAUREATE – Friday, May 13, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m., Penn Hall, North Side

Student Lineup: Students meet College Life staff behind Breidenbaugh Hall, in your graduation robe, at 3:45 p.m.

Guest Information: Gates open at 3:30 p.m., seating is open

It is with joy and anticipation that I invite you to attend Baccalaureate. The past four years have tested us in the most unimaginable ways. No matter your spiritual ideology, it is our shared faith that makes us strong and helps us perceive to Do Great Work. Baccalaureate is an opportunity to gather in gratitude for all of our accomplishments. This celebration is our chance as a community to honor the sacred nature of education and the collegiate experience. I prayerfully look forward to sharing this special time with you as we mark this tremendous milestone in your lives.

COMMENCEMENT – GENERAL ARRIVAL INFORMATION
Students: Arrive in your cap and gown to CUB 126 by 9:45 a.m. for check-in and lineup
Guests: Guest seating opens at Penn Hall, North Side, at 9 a.m.

DEPARTMENTAL RECEPTIONS – Saturday, May 14, 1:30 – 3 p.m.
Departmental Receptions for the Class of 2022 and guests will be held immediately following the Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 14. Refreshments will be provided. All graduates, family members, and friends are welcome to attend the receptions. Please find reception venues listed here.

In addition, signs will be posted around campus to help direct you and your guests to the Departmental Receptions:
Arts & Humanities – Atrium / Patio
Social Sciences & Interdisciplinary Programs – Bullet Hole / Patio
Mathematics, Natural Sciences, & Computer Science – Science Center / Patio

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Please contact the Registrar’s Office if you have any questions about graduation requirements.

COMMENCEMENT PREP CHECKLIST and REGALIA
The Commencement Prep Checklist must be completed to purchase and pick up regalia which is available now at the Bookstore.

You will be receiving your 2022 Stole of Gratitude, a gift from the Alumni Association. After the Commencement ceremony, you are encouraged to present your stole to someone whose support was instrumental in bringing you to this day, as a symbol of your gratitude for that individual's role in your success. Please start thinking about who that person might be.

Again, please note: You are required to complete the Commencement Prep Checklist before purchasing or picking up regalia.

SENIOR WEEK HOUSING AND RESIDENCE HALL MOVE-OUT
Graduating seniors may remain on campus through Commencement, but must vacate their residence hall by 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 15. Important information about residence hall closings, key return, and more can be found on the Residential Education website. For additional information or questions, please contact residencelife@gettysburg.edu.

GETTYSBURG COLLEGE STUDENT LOANS
If you borrowed Federal Perkins and/or College Loans while at attending Gettysburg College, you will receive an email from webmaster@ecsi.net with instructions about completing required online exit counseling.

CLASS RINGS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, AND YEARBOOKS
For information or to order a class ring, a yearbook, or graduation announcements, please visit Balfour online.
