About the Donors
Beth Paul and her husband Richard (Dick) Paul established this fund anonymously in 2014. Upon Beth's death in 2017 Dick felt the time was right to remove the anonymity provision in the hope that their gift might inspire others to support science research collections at Gettysburg College. Dick said, "When Beth and I decided to make a gift to the library, we wanted to do something unique – that would be difficult for your library to fund."
More Information
Beth was an accomplished pianist and organist. She majored in German and minored in English at Gettysburg College and went on to a successful 30 year career as a reference librarian. While they had no scientific background, Beth and Dick realized the high cost of science research materials and chose this as their area of philanthropy.
