New postgraduate health professions partnerships with Penn State, Villanova, and MSOM

December 10, 2025

Dear Gettysburg College Community,

I am pleased to announce that Gettysburg College has entered three new affiliation agreements with outstanding institutions in the health professions: Penn State College of Medicine, the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing at Villanova University, and the Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine (MSOM). These postgraduate partnerships create new opportunities for Gettysburg students who aspire to pursue careers as physicians, nurses, and osteopathic medicine practitioners.

Beginning today, students will have access to pathways such as Penn State’s Early Assurance Program for medical school, priority consideration for up to five qualified graduates into Villanova’s Second Degree Accelerated BSN track, and a guaranteed interview opportunity for MSOM’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree program.

Our communities—and our nation—depend on cultivating knowledgeable and compassionate leaders in health professions, and our three new partnerships affirm Gettysburg’s commitment to producing graduates who are ready to meet this need.

When reflecting on our new partnerships, Biology Prof. Matthew Kittelberger shared, “Speaking on behalf of the Health Professions Advising Committee, we’re all excited at these new opportunities for motivated, prepared Gettysburg students to be able to get a jump start on their graduate school plans.”

I wholeheartedly agree and would like to offer a special thanks to Prof. Kittelberger, Director Katy Mattson, Prof. Josef Brandauer, and the entire Health Professions Advising Committee for their vision and commitment to this essential work.

I invite you to learn more about each of our partnerships and the opportunities they offer. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to advance our mission and serve the greater good.

Sincerely,

Jamila Bookwala
Provost
