Dear Campus Community,
I am very pleased to announce a new partnership with Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. Through the partnership, Gettysburg students and alumni can apply to and enroll in one of the following professional master’s programs:
- Master of Public Administration
- M.A. in International Relations
- M.A. in Public Diplomacy and Global Communications
- M.S. in Sustainable Organizations and Policy
Our alumni can also pursue an Executive Master of Public Administration or Executive M.A. in International Relations if they have at least seven years of professional work experience.
The application fee will be waived for all interested Gettysburg students and alumni. Applicants who meet the required criteria are guaranteed admission and a partnership scholarship in the amount of 40% of tuition charges for any of the professional master’s programs or 30% for either of the executive master’s programs. Highly qualified candidates may be eligible for a higher award.
Students can apply any time after completing a minimum of 23 credits toward their bachelor’s degree. The professional master’s programs require a minimum 3.75 cumulative GPA, while the executive master’s programs require a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA. All applicants must demonstrate their interest in the public service sector and their related skillset, including analytical thinking and quantitative methods.
I’d like to extend my thanks to Chris Rick, Assistant Professor of Public Policy, for his instrumental role in realizing this partnership. You can learn more about our exciting new program by visiting the College website.
In so many ways, our partnership with Syracuse University’s Maxwell School represents a powerful commitment to public service and leadership development. Our students have always been guided by a strong sense of purpose, and this collaboration provides them with the opportunity to deepen their impact through advanced studies in public administration and international relations. I am eager to see how our students will choose to apply what they learn through this innovative program to make a meaningful difference in the world.
Sincerely,
Jamila Bookwala
