First-year students reside in one of six residence halls. The East Quad consists of Hanson, Huber, and Patrick halls. Paul, Rice, and Stine halls comprise the West Quad.
East Quad
Hanson Hall

Hanson Hall has four floors and houses over 150 students. It is named for President Henry W.A. Hanson who served as Gettysburg College President from 1923 to 1952.
Huber Hall

First opened in 1917, Huber Hall was fully renovated in 1999 and it now houses 100 first-year students. Each room typically houses two or three students, with male and female bathrooms on all floors. It is named for Charles H. Huber, whose service to the College extended from 1896 to 1941.
Patrick Hall

Patrick Hall has four floors and houses 150 students. Each room in Patrick Hall has tiled floors and typically houses two students, with male and female bathrooms on each floor.
West Quad
Paul Hall

Paul Hall, a residence hall built in 1957, houses 117 first-year students. It is named for Willard S. Paul, who served as the president of Gettysburg College from 1956 to 1961.
Rice Hall

Rice Hall opened in 1957 as a men’s dormitory. Today, it houses 115 first-year students, regardless of gender. It is named for John S. Rice ’21, who served as a Pennsylvania state senator and US Ambassador to the Netherlands.
Stine Hall

Stine Hall has three floors and houses 115 first-year students. Stine Hall is named after Charles Stine ’01, a Gettysburg alumnus and long-time trustee.
