Family Weekend Indoor Masking Reminder

Message sent on October 20, 2021

Anne Ehrlich and Jen Lucas remind family weekend attendees that they are required to wear a mask in all indoor campus facilities.

Dear Members of the Gettysburg College Community,

As a reminder, our entire community—regardless of vaccination status—will be required to mask in all indoor campus facilities and spaces during Family Weekend. Visiting families are likewise expected to comply with the College’s COVID-19 policies.

The indoor masking policy will be in effect from 9 a.m. on Friday, October 22, until 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 24. The following exceptions will apply:

  • When a vaccinated student or visitor is inside a campus house or residence hall.
  • When an employee is alone in their personal office or workspace.
  • When an individual is eating or drinking.

If students and families are considering pursuing activities in town this weekend and want additional information about the COVID-19 status of Adams County, the COVID Act Now website may be a useful reference.

Following Family Weekend, at 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, we will return to our current indoor masking policy.

We are pleased to be in a position to celebrate Family Weekend, given our Level 1 baseline status and consistently low campus transmission rates. Thank you for taking the extra precaution to mask indoors this weekend to keep our community and Gettysburg families safe.

Sincerely,

Anne Ehrlich
Vice President for College Life and Dean of Students

Jen Lucas
Executive Director of Human Resources
