Right to Serve, Right to Lead: Lives and Legacies of the USCT

August 29, 2016 - December 18, 2017

Special Collections Reading Room

Right to Serve, Right to Lead uses original artifacts, documents, and photographs to follow the evolution of African-American participation in the Civil War, and show how sacrifice both redefined the purpose behind the war, and created a lasting and illustrious military tradition. Curated by 2017 Brian C. Pohanka Intern, Matthew LaRoche '17, this exhibit draws from both the private collection of Angelo Scarlato and local pieces from the collections of the Adams County Historical Society.
