Robert Franklin Holley Preservation Fund

Purpose

Preservation and Conservation of Materials

About the Donor

Barbara Holley, Class of 1954, established this endowment in memory of her brother Robert who passed away in 2001. Robert was a woodworker. Barbara Holley noted, “He was very good at repairing things and putting things back together when they had come apart. This is one of the reasons that I thought a preservation fund was a good way to memorialize him.”

Liebegott-Myers Conservation Fund

Purpose

Conservation and Preservation in Special Collections

About the Donors

This endowment, to support acquisitions, conservation and preservation of items in Special Collections and College Archives at Musselman Library, was established in 2018 by Reverend Victor Myers. Myers cited his lifelong love of reading and his connections to the town of Gettysburg and the College as the impetus for this gift. Myers was a student at the Lutheran Seminary, graduating in 1969 and participated in an internship at the College chapel with Reverend John Vannorsdall.

The endowment is in loving memory of his grandparents, Clara and Charles E. Liebegott, Class of 1912 and his wife Bonnie J. Myers.

G. Kenneth and Mary Newbould Fund

Purpose

Oral History

About the Donors

This endowment was established in the name of G. Kenneth Newbould, Class of 1931, and his wife Mary J. Newbould from the estate of Kenneth H. Newbould, Class of 1958. Kenneth H. Newbould is the son of G. Kenneth Newbould. While a student at Gettysburg College, the elder Newbould was a member of SAE, Pen and Sword, and Alpha Psi Epsilon (economics fraternity). He worked as a newspaper editor. His son was a history major and practiced law in Albany, NY.

More Information

This endowment supports our oral history program, which began in 1989. The library collects oral histories related to World War II and Gettysburg College history. Many of the oral histories were conducted by students from the Historial Methods class.
