Student-faculty ratio

In Fall 2019, student-faculty ratio was around 9 to 1. In Fall 2020, due to a drastically smaller number of students studying abroad (as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic), student-faculty ratio was around 10 to 1. All tenured and tenure-track faculty members have a doctorate or other terminal degree.


Average class size

Gettysburg has an average class size of 17. In Fall 2020, 15.1% of class sections had fewer than 10 students enrolled; and 70% of class sections had fewer than 20 students enrolled.


Degrees awarded by major

During the 2020-21 academic year, 583 students earned bachelor’s degrees, 134 of whom had double majors. The most popular majors were: Political Science (9.9%), Economics (9.2%, including Mathematical Economics), Health Sciences (8.5%), Business, Organizations, and Management Studies (8.2%), History (6.3%), and Psychology (5.0%). Minors completed by graduating class

During the 2020-21 academic year, a total of 447 minors were completed by students, including 69 students with double minors, 14 students with triple minors, and 1 student with quadruple minors. Most popular minors are: Business (19.5%), Peace & Justice Studies (17%), Spanish (4.7%), and Educational Studies (4.3%).
