Student-faculty ratio

In Fall 2019, student-faculty ratio was around 9 to 1. In Fall 2020, due to a drastically smaller number of students studying abroad (as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic), student-faculty ratio was around 10 to 1. All tenured and tenure-track faculty members have a doctorate or other terminal degree.

Average class size

Gettysburg has an average class size of 17. In Fall 2019, 23% of class sections had fewer than 10 students enrolled; and 70% of class sections had fewer than 20 students enrolled.

Degrees awarded by major

During the 2019-20 academic year, 584 students earned bachelor’s degrees, 110 of whom had double majors. The most popular majors were: Economics (10.7%, including Mathematical Economics), Political Science (10.7%), Organization & Management Studies (9.7%), English (7.3%), Health Sciences (6.6%), Psychology (6.2%), and Biology (5.9%).

Minors completed by graduating class

During the 2019-20 academic year, a total of 410 minors were completed by 334 students, including 68 students with double minors and 4 students with triple minors. Most popular minors are: Business (25.1%), Peace & Justice Studies (8.5%), Educational Studies (6.8%), and Spanish (5.6%).
