Commencement 2022 Regalia Reminder

Message sent March 10, 2022

Erin Aumen, Commencement Coordinator and Associate Director, Constituent Relations, sent the following message to seniors in regards to pre-ordering academic regalia.

Good afternoon, Seniors!

Please feel free to disregard if you already pre-ordered your regalia or are not planning to participate in the May ceremony.

Don’t forget to pre-order your regalia (cap and gown) by Wednesday, March 16, to ensure the correct size and availability!

You are responsible for pre-ordering your regalia online though the Bookstore no later than Wednesday, March 16. The cost is $56. After pre-ordering your regalia and completing the Commencement Prep Checklist, you will get your regalia in person in the Bookstore on Regalia Pick-up Day, Monday, April 25. Your regalia package will include a gown, cap, tassel, and academic hood with the appropriate degree color.

If you do not pre-order your regalia by March 16, your next opportunity to purchase regalia is at Regalia Pick-up Day, April 25. Sizes cannot be guaranteed after the pre-order deadline passes, so I encourage you to order by March 16. Please contact the Bookstore directly for details.

Contact the Commencement Coordinator if purchasing regalia poses a financial hardship for you. The President’s Office maintains a fund to provide assistance in certain cases.

You will receive your 2022 Stole of Gratitude, a gift from the Alumni Association, at Commencement lineup on the morning of Saturday, May 14. After the Commencement ceremony, you are encouraged to present your stole to someone whose support was instrumental in bringing you to this day, as a symbol of your gratitude for that individual's role in your success. Please start thinking about who that person might be.

Latin Honor Cords are presented at Commencement line-up as well. Students who studied abroad will receive information from the Center for Global Education regarding patches.

Again, please note: You are required to complete the Commencement Prep Checklist before picking up regalia. Information about the checklist will go out later this week.

Have a great day!
