Welcome to Open Enrollment for 2026!
Enrollment Period: November 7 - November 21, 2026
IMPORTANT: This is an active enrollment period. You must actively select one of two health plan options. If you do not make an election by the deadline, you will be automatically enrolled in Plan 1 (the $1,700 deductible plan).
This year, we are pleased to introduce Benefit Solver, a new employee benefit portal designed to streamline your benefit selections for 2026. Employees eligible for benefits will receive an email from Benefit Solver on the morning of November 7 to begin their selection process.

Health Plan Options
Highmark will continue to administer our medical and pharmacy benefits. Based on strong recommendations from the Benefits Advisory Committee, we are pleased to offer two health plan options beginning in January 2026:
- Plan 1: $1,700 individual / $3,400 family deductible
- Plan 2: $3,400 individual / $6,600 family deductible
Employee premiums will depend upon your plan choice, salary band, and coverage level (employee-only, employee plus spouse, employee plus children, or family).
Both plans qualify as high-deductible health plans, making them eligible for Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions. The College will once again make contributions to employee HSAs based on your health plan selection.
Please review the information below to help make your selections:
Use Our Cost Estimator Tool
Not sure which plan is right for you? Our interactive Cost Estimator Tool helps you compare plans based on your specific situation. Enter your salary, family size, and expected healthcare needs to see a personalized cost analysis for each plan option.

Making Changes Outside of Open Enrollment
Qualifying Life Events
You may make changes to your benefits outside of the open enrollment period only if you experience a qualifying life event. You must notify Human Resources within the timeframes specified below:
- Birth or Adoption: Notify Human Resources within 14 days of the birth or adoption to ensure enrollment in health insurance.
- Marriage: If your new spouse would like to join our medical or dental coverage, you must add them within 30 days of marriage. Otherwise, you will need to wait until the next open enrollment period.
- Divorce or Legal Separation: Notify Human Resources immediately. Your former spouse may be eligible for COBRA insurance coverage.
Please notify Human Resources of any qualifying life event as soon as possible, as these changes may affect your benefits and eligibility.
Prescription Drug Information
Core Formulary
All prescription drug coverage follows Highmark's Core Formulary. For information on how to search the formulary to verify drug coverage, please see How to find a drug on the Core Formulary (PDF)
How to File an Appeal for Prescription Coverage
If you received a letter from Highmark indicating that your prescription is not covered under the new formulary, please follow these steps:
- Step 1: Meet with your prescribing physician to review alternative medications that are covered under the formulary.
- Step 2: If there is a medically necessary reason why you can only take the non-covered prescription, you may file an appeal with Highmark.
- Step 3: The most effective way to submit an appeal is to have your prescribing physician initiate the process by contacting Highmark directly.
To start the appeal process:
- Log into your Highmark account at www.highmark.com
- Under the Prescriptions tab, you will find the pre-approval process
- Print the Prescription Drug Medication Request Form for your physician, or submit an online request
