COVID-19 guidelines follow-up for faculty and staff

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the start of the 2022-2023 academic year! We hope you had the opportunity to rest and recharge over the summer. We are writing as a follow-up to the message that was sent to the campus community on July 22 outlining the updated COVID-19 guidance for the fall semester.

Please find below a quick summary of the current workplace COVID-19 guidelines for faculty and staff.

  • Positive Test Results: Employees must notify Human Resources immediately following a positive test. Please email hr@gettysburg.edu for timely assistance. The Human Resources Office staff will assist you with determining your isolation period. The Human Resources Office is no longer performing contact tracing for on-campus COVID-19 positive cases. It is expected that faculty and staff who test positive for COVID-19 reach out to their own close contacts. The definition of close contact is found on our website.
  • Information for Close Contacts: It is no longer necessary to inform the Human Resources Office if you are a close contact of an individual with COVID-19. Instead, we have included guidelines for close contacts on our website. Our website will be updated if the CDC guidance changes in the future.
  • Vaccinations: Employees are strongly encouraged to be up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccines, but this is not required. The definition of up-to-date is found on our website. We ask that employees share their vaccination information with Human Resources by emailing a copy of your vaccination card to vaccine@gettysburg.edu.

We look forward to a new semester and our work together. Take good care!

Sincerely,

Jen Lucas
Executive Director of Human Resources
