Before graduate school, Chris worked on government contracts and projects for the Federal Highway Administration, Department of Energy, and Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS). Chris also worked in the freight mobility office of the New York City Department of Transportation. In the academic world, Chris studies transportation-related air pollution – and its effects on environmental quality and human health, with an emphasis on how it affects environmental justice communities. Chris also researches how students travel to school, including how school buses and public transit break the link between residential neighborhood and school quality.
