Request Library Instruction

There are numerous ways that librarians can support your course. To request a class session, please complete our online request form. A librarian will be in contact with you to confirm the date, time, and location of your instruction session and to discuss plans for your class.

Scheduling

  • Please submit instruction requests using our online form.
  • Since we design each class session for your course and specific assignment, please schedule at least two weeks in advance.
  • If you have copies of the assignment or syllabus, please include them with your request.
  • We do our best to schedule for your preferred date based on our availability. Please indicate an alternate date in your request in case it’s needed.
  • The 014 classroom has been redesigned and no longer includes desktop computers. Students will need to bring laptops to class. 3 Chromebooks are available if needed.
  • Due to high demand for library instruction and workshops in rooms 014 and 018, these rooms are not available to faculty or other campus offices for regularly scheduled class sessions or meetings. To inquire about a single-use request, refer to our guide on reserving library spaces.

Attendance

We request that you plan to be present for the class session with your students. This allows for you to participate during the session and answer questions that may arise about the research assignment.

Timing

We recommend that you plan the session for when students are beginning to work on their research project. Note that the first three weeks of the semester might be too early, depending on your course schedule and assignment deadlines.
