Arcadia Intern Philly - Philadelphia, PA

Arcadia Intern Philly website

Advisor/Important notes:

  • Operated by Arcadia University, this domestic based global study program in Philadelphia
  • Students live in university residence halls on Arcadia’s campus. They are apartment style rooms with double occupancy bedrooms, shared kitchen, bathroom, common room, amongst apartment-mates. Students living in the apartment will all be participants of the Intern Philly program. Students are responsible for cooking their meals for themselves in their apartments
  • Because students are living on Arcadia’s campus they have full access to campus facilities (such as the gym), and also all student organizations and events.
  • Students will take intern philly classes and often complete their internship in downtown philly. They will take the train from Arcadia University into Philly which is about a 10-20 minute ride. The train station is a 5-10 minute walk down the street from the campus/residence hall. The walk to the train station is a straight line down a main road and feels very safe. A transportation card for the semester is provided by the program so students will not have to fund their own transportation.
  • Elective courses offered lean towards the humanities, but select Arcadia University courses are made available to students both in the evenings and on select weekdays. Enrollment is limited based on availability, timetabling, and placement requirements – so it may be possible for students to enroll in a larger variety of subjects.
  • Intern Philly helps place students with internships in the surrounding area and supports them in identifying organizations of interest, the application, and the interview processes. They have good relationships with a variety of STEM locations, and also marketing, advertising, business administration, communications, social services, finance, technology, healthcare and the arts.
  • Staff also host themed city walks and other co-curricular engagement events for students throughout the semester. There is often a strong social justice or DEI theme to these events.
