Choir Auditions - Spring 2021
Choir is not just for conservatory students! Every choir has singers from different majors and minors, and many of our fine singers are not music majors. There's a place for almost anyone to sing at Gettysburg College!
If you are a RETURNING SINGER and wish to sing in the same choir(s) as in the fall, you do not need to re-audition. Just let Dr. Natter know (by filling out the form (see email from 1/21/21)) and come to the first rehearsal. If you sang in the Fall, but wish to audition for a different ensemble, email Dr. Natter (rnatter@gettysburg.edu) to let him know your plan, and use the audition process described below.
Class meetings in the first week will take place on Zoom - you will receive an invitation by email for your group(s).
TU 11:30 – Audeamus
TU 4:00 – College Choir
WE 4:00 – Camerata
WE 7:30 – Concert Choir
We welcome NEW SINGERS in the Spring semester.
Mostly there are opportunities for Concert Choir and Audeamus, but sometimes there are openings in College Choir and Camerata. Come sing and we'll see.
The first thing to do is to become familiar with the choirs so you can know what groups you want to audition for. Here are useful resources to help you:
- Choirs webpage, where you can navigate to information about each choir, see the rehearsal times, etc.
- Questions and Answers about choir, where you can read more detailed information. Your question may be answered there.
- Use this information to decide what choir(s) you're interested in.
- You may also want to check out our virtual choir project from last spring. Optional, but fun.
Then proceed to the actual audition process, which is in two main parts.
- Audition Information and Instructions. This will describe the whole process, and lead you to the audition form itself.
- The Audition Form. This is where you will give information about yourself, and make three small recordings for your audition. Everything is there on that page. You'll record right into the webpage and submit your recordings with the form.

Auditions for Audeamus and College Choir are due by Monday, February 1 by 5:00pm. Results will be sent by email later than evening, or Tuesday morning, February 2. Don't delay! Get it done early!
