Description
The Color Guard of the Bullets Marching Band is an integral part of the visual aspect of the band’s performance. The Guard spins standard flags, weapons, and other props fitting to our shows combining elements of physical dance to create a unique visual display on the field. As a member of the Guard, the only required piece of equipment is a flag; all weapon work is optional and taught to interested individuals.
Membership
No audition required, although Color Guard members must attend Band Camp.
Open to all Gettysburg College students.
Rehearsals
Monday from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. and Friday from 4:10 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
There is also a weekly Guard sectional, which is scheduled based upon members’ schedules.
In the event of scheduling conflicts, members are permitted to miss up to one hour of practice a week if it coincides with a class or lab.
Additional Information
Color Guard members are responsible for providing:
- Black color guard shoes
- Color guard gloves
- Band jacket/windbreaker
- Personal equipment bag
