Permits

Student Permits: ($125 per academic year) — Student permits are valid for the academic year they are purchased in. All student permits are only valid in Student Parking lots. Commuter students receive a general parking permit at a reduced rate ($30).

Student vehicle registration starts August 1, 2025.

Employee Permits: All full- and part-time employee vehicles must display a permit. This issued permit is valid as long as the employee remains an employee at Gettysburg College. Employees can have up to 2 permits issued to them, but they are to only be used for vehicles registered and used by the employee. Children of employees who are attending the college MUST obtain a student parking permit to park on campus. Use of an employee parking permit by a student will result in a citation.

Vehicle Registration: All vehicles must be registered with Campus Safety and assigned a permit. Failure to do so will result in a citation.

Permit PlacementAll parking permits are to be displayed on the rear view mirror of the vehicle or placed on the dash in plain sight. All permits must be placed in plain view, clearly visible from outside of the vehicle.

Failure to obtain and display a permit at all times will result in the following:

2nd Offense: $100.00 fine

In addition, charging of electric vehicles is limited to these approved charging spaces. The use of random electric outlets on campus—inside or outside of buildings—for electric vehicle charging is strictly prohibited.

Handicap Parking: Handicap parking is controlled by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. A state-issued permit is required to park in any handicap space.

Temporary Permits: Temporary permits are available for students who have not purchased a yearly parking permit. The cost of a temporary parking pass is $10 per week.
