Hi! My name is Michele Dumois. I have been working in the field of psychology since 1996. I have enjoyed working with children, adolescents, adults, families and couples in private practice, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins University and Catholic Charities.
In therapy, I place an emphasis on authenticity, genuineness, and critical thought. My approach to therapy is an integrative one where our work will be client-centered and strengths based. My goal is to create a comfortable, non-judgmental, trusting and understanding environment where hope and change can be obtained.
I love working with young adults as they build autonomy, develop individualized values, form adult relationships, and move into adult roles and responsibilities while navigating life’s challenges. I enjoy working with those struggling with eating disorders and athletes. Additionally, while I value all individuals, I have experience in Christian based counseling and find this to be a great strength for some clients.
I have a Master of Social Work and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have received strong clinical training from Barry University near Miami, Florida and Johns Hopkins Hospital/University. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Towson University, minoring in Business Administration. I have also received training from The Mediation Center and The National Family Resiliency Center, Inc.
In addition to my career, I am passionate about the life long process of personal growth. I value relationships with my family and friends. I enjoy many athletic recreational activities, a healthy lifestyle, nature, music, travel and cultural diversity.
