January Orientation

January 18 – January 19, 2024

New Student Orientation for students starting at Gettysburg in the Spring 2024 semester will be held Thursday, January 18 and Friday, January 19, 2024.

Planning for your arrival:

During the week of January 8, you will receive access to the New Student Dashboard.  The Dashboard is a secure system Gettysburg uses to gather information about our incoming students so we can be ready for you when you arrive. You will be asked to provide information about your academic interests, any credits you are bringing with you from previous study, housing, insurance, your family, etc.  You will also complete information regarding financial authorizations and responsibilities.

You can access the Dashboard by clicking here, or using the link in your e-mail.

Arriving to campus:

Students will move into their residence halls on Thursday, January 18, 2024.  More information on key pick up and move in will be sent to you via email.

If you are an international student, we recognize that you may not be able to arrive on that specific date.  If you have not already, please be in contact with Brad Lancaster (blancast@gettysburg.edu), the Director of International Student Services, to make arrangements.

Orientation:

All new students will be required to participate in New Student Orientation on Thursday, January 18 and Friday, January 19; programming will begin at dinner time on Thursday, January 18.  During this time, you will learn about the campus, the curriculum, and how to be involved and engaged with our community.  You will also register for classes.  Please bring your laptop to these sessions.

A copy of the Orientation schedule will be sent to you via email and provided to you when you pick up your keys.

Course Registration:

You will register for your courses on Friday, January 19.

You will have a chance to speak with a member of the Center for Student Success team so that your courses line up with your academic interests.  The Office of the Registrar will also be reaching out to you to ask about any credits you will be bringing with you.  Before you arrive to campus, you can review the First-Year Advising and Registration Guide.  If you have questions about courses, feel free to reach out to your Class Advisor (based on your intended graduation year from Gettysburg) or the Office of the Registrar:
