Information for Transfer and Commuter Students

Welcome to Gettysburg! We are excited that you are joining our community!

Transfer students are expected to fully participate in the Orientation programming, as the Orientation programming is designed to introduce you to the Gettysburg community, not just the transition to College.

  • You will be in an Orientation group with the other new transfer students.
  • Your group will be led by an Orientation Leader (OL). Your orientation will begin with the Orientation Group Assembly on Stine Lake beginning Wednesday August 20th at 1pm. Your orientation leader will be waiting for you with a sign that says Transfer Students.
  • If a session has special instructions for transfer students, it will be noted in the Navigate app.
  • If you are both a transfer student and a commuter student, please follow the instructions for all transfer students.

Commuter students are also expected to fully participate in Orientation, beginning with the Orientation Group Assembly on Wednesday, August 20th at 1pm. Your orientation group will be waiting for you under a sign that says Rice 1.

  • You are welcome to have lunch in Servo prior to the Assembly.
  • Your parents and families are also invited to attend their programming on Wednesday afternoon.
  • You will be in an Orientation group with other commuter students, as well as some students who are living on campus.  Information on I.D card pick up, parking pass, and where to meet your Orientation group for the first meeting will be sent to you via email one week before Orientation.
  • If a session has special instructions for commuter students, it will be noted on the Navigate app.

Commuter students without meal plans are still able to access the dining hall during days of orientation with their I.D. card at no cost to the student.
