Band Camp

Band camp is an important and exciting time for the members of the Bullets Marching Band. During this period, members standardize our musical and marching styles, and learn two complete shows: Pregame and a corps-style Halftime show.

The band spends extensive time getting to know each other and having fun. The Bullets Band Camp schedule is an intensive week of rehearsal, shared meals, and fun social activities. It is an excellent way for first-year students to acclimatize to the collegiate environment, and a great experience for veterans to begin their academic year. Student leadership, which include drum majors, section leaders, undergraduate staff, and equipment managers is an important component of the ensemble, and elected class representatives (including a 1st Year Representative elected during camp) plan and facilitate all social activities throughout camp.

Students attending band camp will check into their campus housing a week earlier than most other students. This provides a great way to learn the campus and become familiar with their ‘new home’ prior to the arrival of the majority of the student body.

Meals are provided as part of the band camp fee, along with a variety of other items necessary for participation in the Bullets Marching Band. Other items are available for purchase on the band Intent to Participate form, which can be found on the Join the Band page.

For band camp dates, check the Bullets Marching Band calendar. Specific information about band camp, including lists of what to bring, the band camp schedule, and other important things to know will be distributed to all band members over the summer via Moodle, Gettysburg College’s learning management system.
