  • Garthwait Leadership Center: In many of our programs, we teach aspects of emotional intelligence in leadership. We encourage students to name their emotions and identify wishes and behaviors they would like to enact to enhance their self-management strategies. We also use mindfulness in our programs to generate awareness of emotions. Formal programs include: Ascent, Outdoor Trips, the Leadership Certificate, the Group Facilitation Fellowship, the Eisenhower Leadership Conference, and the January Leadership Expedition. We also provide custom-designed workshops on topics related to emotional intelligence in the classroom or on the Challenge Course.
