Professor John Cadigan publishes in Public Choice

Professor John Cadigan with co-author Pamela Schmitt, publish ‘Strategic Entry Deterrence and Terrorism: Theory and Experimental Evidence,' in Public Choice 143(1): 3-22, April 2010.

We utilize experimental methods to examine predictions from a game theoretic model of terrorism. Our approach highlights the importance of strategic spillovers, in particular the negative externalities associated with making a target ‘harder' and the public goods aspects of spending on preemption. Our experimental results are broadly consistent with the model predictions.
