Civil War Institute director featured on C-SPAN 3

Prof. Peter Carmichael's Southern history class was recently featured on C-SPAN 3's Lectures in History, a program featuring top college and university history professors giving lectures on U.S. history.

Carmichael, a Civil War and Southern history expert, examines the complexity of the Confederate soldier during the April 7 class that was later televised on C-SPAN 3.

Carmichael is director of Gettysburg College's Civil War Institute, Robert C. Fluhrer Professor of Civil War Studies, and professor of history.

Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with a strong academic tradition.
